Pleated Skirt Muslim Women Fashion Trend

Fall Fashion Trend Alert: Long Pleated Skirts for Muslim Women Fashion

Move over long frumpy skirts! Muslim women who are fashion conscious can now look to the long pleated skirts trend that is making waves on the fashion runways this Fall! Read on to find out more on how to incorporate this look into your fashion style this Fall.

“This season, pleated skirts have gotten a fashionable update from their schoolgirl or stuffy secretary association,” says stylist, Afiya Francisco. “Pleats are thinner and fabrics are lighter.”

How to wear it
“A fashion-forward option is to pair longer skirts with hip-length tops in contrasting fabrics,” says Francisco. Try it with a looser fit blouse that’s tucked in. Fit is crucial, says Francisco, so be sure that the pleats are sharp and lay flat. Vivid brights are a bold option but lighter taupe and grey is also polished and feminine.

Accessorize it
A medium to thin belt is a must. Try something in the same tone or a complementing shade, says Francisco.

Day to night
Wear it with slightly heavier shoes like wedges to counterbalance the floaty material – these are a great casual option for day. Feminine heels make a sophisticated option for evening. Fabrics like silk, chiffon and satin also look appropriate for evening events so opt for a skirt that can work for both.

Eid Clothes 2011

Eid Clothes for 2011

In two days, Muslims will mark the end of Ramadan with a day of celebration called Eid al Fitri. It is customary, but not obligatory for Muslims to wear new clothes on Eid. Today's post takes a look at some Eid fashion clothes for women.

The Arabic jalabiya is a popular choice for Eid clothings. In Singapore, for example, the majority of Muslims are ethnic Malays and Indians. They often have their own traditional Eid clothing to wear during Eid - for the Malays, the baju kurung or the kebaya, and the Indians, the sari or salwar kameez. But there is a trend toward the Arabic jalabiya for Eid clothing in Singapore.

We feature some Eid clothes from a Singapore store, Jewelabeya.

Hijabi Fashion

We came across this Muslim designer while surfing the web recently. Majreha is a Malaysian Muslim Fashion online clothing store. One of their signature Hijabi Fashion style is the long maxi dress, or kaftan, made of lovely batik designs. In Malaysia these long maxi kaftan dresses are called modern batik kaftans, not because they are necessarily made of the batik (hand-printed textiles of Indonesian or Malaysian traditional style) cloth, but because the fabric designs are batik-like.

Eid al Fitri Muslim Women Fashions

Festive Muslim Women Fashion Clothes for Eid

Ramadan has not yet started, but already fashion designers have begun advertising their Eid festive clothes for Muslim women.

While it is not a requirement for Muslims to wear new clothes on Eid (for instance, those who cannot afford new clothes will wear clean old clothes on Eid day), many Muslims save up to buy new clothes for Eid. For some Muslims, it can be the first or few times in the year when they spend money for new clothes.

Some women try to make their Eid clothes purchases before Ramadan because they have so many responsibilities during Ramadan from working a regular job, home keeping, cooking during Ramadan, extra night prayers and reading the Quran. So it makes sense that some Muslim women will start hunting for Eid festive clothes before the onset of a busy Ramadan.

With that in mind, we thought to put together some Eid Festive Muslim Women Fashion designs. Hope our readers are amply inspired!

Here's an early Ramadan Mubarak greeting to all our special readers. May you all reap in the benefits from God during this special and holy month.

Ramadan Mubarak!
